Custom Door Sign Sample Service for B2B Projects
Subtitle: Confirm Materials, Finishes, Construction, and Mounting Before Bulk Production
For a custom hotel or apartment door-sign project, a drawing alone does not always show how the finished sign will look and feel. Material sheen, color, tactile details, edge treatment, assembly, and mounting can all affect the result.
EZD Sign offers custom door-sign samples for sign contractors, distributors, trade companies, and hotel or apartment project suppliers. Samples can start from one piece and are produced from the available project drawing, reference image, room-sign concept, or approved specification.
The purpose of a sample is to reduce uncertainty before a larger room schedule is released for production.
What a Sample Can Confirm
Depending on the product, a sample can be used to review:
- Overall dimensions and proportions
- Material combination and thickness
- Paint color, brushed finish, electroplated finish, or other surface treatment
- Printed graphics and brand colors
- Raised characters, braille, pictograms, and tactile details
- Lighting color and visible light distribution for illuminated products
- Edge treatment, bonding, fasteners, and assembly
- Mounting method and accessory details
- Protective packaging for the approved product
The exact review points depend on the sign construction and the information supplied with the project.

MOQ and Typical Sample Timing
Custom samples can start from one piece.
Typical sample production is 3-5 days after the required details are confirmed. The final timing depends on material availability, finish, construction, and whether special components or revisions are required.
International delivery time is separate from production time. Sample cost and shipping are quoted after the drawing, destination, and required finish are reviewed.
What to Send for a Sample Quote
To prepare an accurate sample route, send the information currently available:
- Drawing, artwork, or reference image
- Sign dimensions
- Required material and finish
- Room number, copy, pictogram, or braille information
- Mounting preference
- Estimated bulk quantity
- Delivery country and required date
- Project specification or accessibility requirement, when applicable
If the final drawing is not ready, a reference photo and approximate dimensions can be used for an initial feasibility discussion. Missing details must be confirmed before the sample is produced.
Drawing and Production Review
Before production, our team checks whether the proposed structure can be manufactured consistently. The review may cover material selection, finish compatibility, minimum detail size, tactile elements, assembly, mounting, and packaging.
When a design may create a production, readability, or mounting issue, we raise the question before sampling instead of making an unapproved change.
For ADA-style tactile and braille signs, we manufacture according to the approved drawings and project requirements provided for the order. The customer and responsible local project professionals remain responsible for confirming applicable accessibility and installation requirements.
Sample Production
The sample follows the production route expected for the approved project whenever practical. Depending on the design, processes may include:
- CNC engraving
- Metal or non-metal laser cutting
- UV printing
- Acrylic and metal processing
- Painting, brushing, electroplating, polishing, or other finishing
- Tactile production and braille details
- Lighting and electrical assembly
- Bonding, fastening, and final assembly
The production method is selected after the drawing and finish are reviewed.

Sample Inspection
Before shipment, checks may include dimensions, visible surface finish, color, room number or copy, tactile details, mounting parts, and accessories. Illuminated products can also be powered on for a lighting check when applicable.
Inspection is performed against the approved production information available for the sample. A sample does not replace the customer's project-specific compliance, code, or installation review.

Approval and Bulk Production
After receiving the sample, the customer can approve it or provide a clear revision list. If changes are required, the revised drawing, finish, or construction should be confirmed before bulk production.
Typical bulk production is 15-25 days after sample and drawing approval. Timing depends on quantity, number of sign types, materials, finishes, and packing requirements.
For hotel and apartment projects, the approved sample can become the reference for the wider room-number schedule. Available room lists can then be checked during production and used to organize packing by room, floor, area, sign type, or carton.
When a Sample Is Especially Useful
A physical sample is recommended when:
- The project includes a new sign structure
- Brand colors or finish matching are important
- Several materials are layered or assembled together
- Raised characters, braille, or tactile details need approval
- A special mounting method is proposed
- Lighting appearance needs confirmation
- The project contains a large room schedule or many repeat units
- The buyer is evaluating EZD Sign for repeat-order cooperation
